I ALREADY KNOW WHAT IS ACTIVE SMOKING, PASSIVE SMOKING OR SECOND HAND SMOKING. BUT WHAT IS THE THIRD HAND SMOKING?

The PULMAOSA recently addressed the concepts of active smoking, passive smoking or second hand, in our articles about the smoke’s current primary or active or the article “Secondhand Smoke? No, Thanks®.”

But what is Third-Hand Smoke?

Everybody knows that cigarettes contain more than 4,000 substances, and among these about 60 are carcinogenic.

The term “Third-Hand Smoke is known to some of these constituents that permeate the household or car fabrics, the furniture, carpets and curtains of  hotels or homes, the clothes of active smoking and passive smoking also. “In other words, it is the “smell of tobacco” which literally clings to the people, furniture, utensils and clothes.
And this impregnation of the tobacco smell happens even if you open the windows or turn on the fan or air conditioning (which also has affected their filters).
The Third-Hand Smoke beside discomfort caused to the non-smokers, it is also capable of transmitting toxins primarily for preschool and school children because they are very sensitive and use the senses in its fullness and even unintentionally lead to mouth everything they put their hands.
So if you are a smoker: Please, protect the children and yourself. Look for a doctor to be advised and treat smoking dependence. That would be a major step in order of protecting the health of your entire family. Meanwhile, do not smoke indoors or at public places such as restaurants, bars or even inside your car, or your home. Make sure that the driver of the school transport also follows this caution. After all, is the life of your children and yours own that are being placed at risk!

And this risk is fully preventable and treatable !
